Sunni Razvi Society International was founded by His Eminence, Qutbe Mauritius Hazrat Allama Maulana Muhammad Ibrahim Khushtar (Alaihir Rahmah) in 1965, in response to a request from his spiritual mentor, Ghausul Waqt Huzoor Mufti-e-Azam Hind Hazrat Maulana Mumammad Mustafa Raza Khan (Alaihir Rahmah), to spread the teachings of Islam and Maslak-e-A’la Hazrat around the globe. At this request, His Eminence, showing utmost humility, replied that someone else should be chosen for such an enormous task as he did not deem himself worthy and capable of such a responsibility. Huzoor Mufti-e-Azam Hind (Alaihir Rahmah) replied that the reason he had chosen him is in fact because he had trained him and knows full well that he is both worthy and capable of fulfilling this responsibility.
This couplet penned by His Eminence illustrates the outcome of the incident above and no doubt the name of A’la Hazrat Imam Ahmad Raza Khan (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) resounded from east to west and this was the message of Huzoor Mufti-e-Azam Hind (Alaihir Rahmah) that was conveyed by His Eminence, in the name of Sunni Razvi Society International.
Alhamdulillah, today the world acknowledges this fact, after being touched by the rays of His Eminence’s spiritual luminance and whichever part of the world his blessed feet touched, it felt as though an oasis of truth had started to flow in the midst of a desert of corruption and falsehood.
His Eminence was a missionary of Islam and a well-known personality of the Islamic world. He spread the message of A’la Hazrat Imam Ahmad Raza Khan (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) throughout the world. He had established missionary institutions under the name of Sunni Razvi Society International in many countries. He was a symbol of the Ahle Sunnat and had a natural attachment with knowledge and literature. There was a sweetness in his language, a charm in his speech and a flow in his pen.
After so much effort put in for the upliftment of the Muslim community in different parts of the globe, His Eminence has passed down to history as someone who has dedicated his whole missionary career to the noble cause of fortifying and reinvigorating the love for Islam. He has thus carved his footprints on the sands of time and today he niches in the temple of fame. His greatness lies in the fact that wherever he went, he conveyed the message of love in tune with the teachings of Islam. He has beyond any doubt ranked himself among those great men of religion that have taken love, compassion, regards for others, altruism, sincerity of purpose and the spirit of Muslim brotherhood as their leading motif, in their fight against irreligiousness, greed, envy, and the evils of pure materialism.
His Eminence left behind a great heritage to prosperity and taught us how to love one’s religion without offending others, how to open one’s doors to whomsoever knocks at it, irrespective of creed or colour, how to be patient in times of turmoil, how to give love in return for hatred, sincerity for hypocrisy and friendship for hostility. Thousands are those that have quenched their thirst at the feet of his spiritual mentorship while countless are those that have gathered some pebbles from his vast shore of knowledge.
May the shadow of His Eminence always be over us and may we be counted amongst his slaves, Ameen.
